1. Winnies, Queenstown

One of the best things about Winnies is that it’s one of the only clubs in Queenstown to provide great food while being able to party.

2. Below Zero Ice Bar Queenstown

Just down the road from Zephyr is one of Queenstown’s most unique nightlife experiences. If you’re looking for something different and interesting to do on a night out, you have to make a stop at Below Zero Ice Bar Queenstown.

After a day on the slopes, why not head straight back into the cold and go to Ice Bar. LIke the name suggests, the walls, furniture, bar and sculptures have all been carefully handcrafted out of ice.

As you enter the bar, the staff at Ice Bar will look after you, handing you gloves, coats and everything else you need to keep warm in this chilly bar. And if you’re worried about the cold, the impressive vodka menu will have you warmed up in no time!

3. Zephyr

If you’re here for a good time, Zephyr is the place to go.

However, Zephyr is quieter than the other places on this list, it’s a great, intimate bar that offers a great mix of live entertainment every night of the week. At Zephyr, you’re bound to find a lot of locals as well tourists mingling in this venue.

One of the coolest things about Zephyr is that the bar itself was constructed out of materials rescued out of the Christchurch earthquakes and repurposed into this bar.

Be sure to check out the eye-opening shots menu. Or if you’re feeling thirsty grab one of the 750ml bottles of beer they serve up ice cold. With a pool table, and an ever-changing playlist, you’ll be able to make a whole night out of a visit to Zephyr.

4. Loco Cantina, Queenstown 

Head straight to Loco Cantina if you want to see the heart of Queenstown’s nightlife. Loco is a classic backpacker’s bar, and it’s loved for a reason. Not only that, but Loco is the home of Queenstown’s best Mexican food. You can be sure a night at Loco will keep the tequila flowing.

A regular line up of local and international DJ’s means this intimate venue is always pumping and you’ll never have a quiet night at Loco.

Top tip: if you’re there on a Tuesday night, be sure to swing by early for Tuesday Taco night for cheap, amazing tacos.

5. Vinyl Underground

Just like the name suggests, you’ll find this club tucked under the streets of Queenstown. You’ll often find great drink specials ($4 Smirnoff Ice anyone?), and with live DJs playing. You won’t ever have to worry about awkward silences on the dance floor.

Considered by many to be the home of Queenstown’s music scene, up and coming DJs and bands from Queenstown are playing up a storm every night. Be sure to hit up the nightly Happy Hour at 10pm for killer drink specials.

We all know that a big night of dancing will make you hungry. Vinyl Underground are also cooking up some of the best pizzas around.
