Weapon in hand, you stalk through the woods looking for your mates. Trying hard to avoid being spotted, you crouch behind trees, walls and obstacles. You see something in your peripheral vision. It’s one of your mates and he’s taking aim at you. As he pulls the trigger and fires, you duck down just in time and he misses.
You see your mate running away so you turn and give chase through the woods. As you sprint after him, you do your best to aim the barrel of the gun at his back. Your finger is on the trigger. You’re closing in, waiting for the perfect moment. Ready. Aim. Fire.
This is paintball.
If you’ve never played paintball before, you may be curious about what to expect. One thing’s for sure: you’re certain to experience a game filled with thrills, strategising and adventure. Bring your stag team along and your paintball centre will provide the rest of the gear you need, including a paintball gun, face mask, camo coveralls and the paintballs.
You’ll be able to undertake a variety of missions, often with real life military props and obstacles for some realistic gameplay. Choose from a number of missions like Capture the Flag, Rob the Nest and Hunt the Stag (your stag should find THAT one a lot of fun).

When you hear the name “Queenstown” you might think skydiving, skiing, bungy jumping or mountain hiking. These are all accurate mental pictures, but you can add another one to the list: paintball.
Queenstown Paintball has an outdoor battlefield and a huge selection of game scenarios. Have a go at ‘Hunt the Stag’ in which the Stag gets one minute to hide and the rest of the team go out as hunters. The stag’s goal then is to shoot the hunters.
Auckland has several spots for a great game of paintball. One of them is Asylum Paintball, which has a stag do special package that includes private indoor and outdoor games in all weather conditions plus barbeque and private function areas.
What could be better than a game of paintball followed up with a barbeque, all for you and your mates alone? Now that’s a stag do worth its salt!
More known for its culture and nightlife, NZ’s capital also has paintball. Just another reason to go to Welly. At Paintballcorp you get the opportunity to attack and to protect Wellington’s two oldest fields: Isolation Hill and Hostility Creek, which are every bit as sinister as their names suggest.
With a stag do package they can tailor a variety of games for you including Gauntlet Run and Stag Hunt, which should keep your stag on his toes, eh?
If you’re heading for the Gold Coast, beaches, babes and nightlife may be what’s on your mind. But this place is just as good for a paintball stag do.
Skirmish Gold Coast has a huge outdoor field that provides a military-style experience complete with authentic props. There’s also a bamboo forest that’s absolutely perfect for a sneaky shortcut.
